Ranchin'

Well I got to do something yesterday that I would never get to do in Whitehorse- I got to go and do chores at a ranch! Mom and dad (and myself) have some friends- Susan and Wendy, who have this incredible ranch just outside of Eastend, and yesterday I got to head out and do their daily chores with them. Who would have thought that chasing after a truck trying to keep the hay unwinding, and walking through cow crap could be so much fun! After feeding the herd out in the fields, we headed in to feed the bulls, the calves (which are so cute!) and the jerseys. It was also a good time for Penelope, who had never before seen a cow, and who was not well liked by Tombstone. Note for the future- donkeys are known to be great at keeping coyotes-and city dogs- away from herds! After a while, and once away from the field, Penelope quickly warmed to the idea of being on a farm, and really wanted to play with some cows who had zero interest in playing with her! She's just lucky that the cows aren't more aggressive towards dogs! All in all the experience was great, and I hope that maybe I can get out there again before I leave, or at least at some point when I am back in May! Thanks Susan and Wendy for letting me tag along and ask ridiculous questions, I had a great time!
